The main target group of the congress are persons with a disability; non/less disabled persons are only assisting the participation. We kindly ask you to be aware of this fact and we hope for 1:3 accompanying persons in average. Persons with disabilities and their assistants mainly from Europe but also from other countries are invited to participate.
“Living in the Encounter” congress started way back in 1998 in Berlin and soon became a worldwide movement for persons with disabilities. Congresses are organized in various regions and are empowering all involved persons. The congress in Belgrade will be our seventh and last event. That being said, it’s your last opportunity to experience this unique congress again.
Belgrade, the European landlocked jewel also known as the “White City”, also experienced painful times in its recent history. These wounds are still visible. In contrast, “Living in the encounter” is a guideline to how peace and cooperation can be achieved within and throughout Europe. Here people with disabilities are taking proactive social roles and are no longer only on the receiving end of support.

The registration deadline is due to May 2018. Final date is yet to be confirmed.
There are two ways to make the payment:
- First option is to pay via official congress web page. At the end of registration process there will be option for online payment. Online payments are made by credit cards and are perfectly safe. Once your payment is complete, you will receive confirmation of successful registration.
- Second option is to make the payment via bank transfer. In this case please send an email to Mima Đuričić at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will get back to you with proforma invoice. All bank details will be specified in the invoice.
IMPORTANT: Please note that registration is complete only after the payment has been made.
The overall cost of participation is 360 euros per person in total.
The participation fee covers all parts of the program, including accommodation in a fine 4 star hotel, food consumption, grand opening ceremony and “Balkan party” attendance, as well as ground transportation to all planned locations and excursions. The additional costs besides above listed ones are not included. Also, please note that part-time participations are not accepted. However, if you wish to arrive earlier or prolong your stay, please let us know on email@example.com and we will get back to you with rates and details.
Registration fee includes:
- Accommodation in Crowne Plaza Hotel 4* in period 31st May – 3rd June 2018. Breakfast and city tax are included in the rate.
- 2 coffee breaks per day (filter coffee, selection of teas, mineral water sparkling and still), buffet lunch at hotel with 1 non-alcoholic drink and buffet dinner at hotel with 1 non-alcoholic drink
- Arrival and departure airport – hotel transfers on 31st May and 3rd June 2018 only.
- Welcome cocktail on 31st May 2018 non-alcoholic drinks
- Evening program on 31st May , 1st and 2nd June 2018
Serbia advocates visa-free entry policy that allows citizens of as many countries possible to visit without previously having to obtain a visa. All European Union citizens, as well as the citizens of the Swiss Confederation, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Iceland, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Turkey, United States of America and Canada may enter Serbia using only their passports.
Registration Cancellation Policy:
In case of cancellation at any stage, bank transfer handling fee (15.00 €) will not be refunded. All cancellations must be electronically mailed:
– Cancellations received up and including December 1st, 2017– full refund minus bank transfer handling fee.
– Cancellations received between December 1st, 2017 and March 1st, 2018 – 50 % will be refunded.
– After March 1st, 2018 – no refund will be made.
In case of force majeure (earthquake, floods, war, terrorist attacks, etc.) participation fee will be refunded in full.
Please note that participation fee includes the transportation costs for all ground services and airport shuttle bus on 31st May and 3rd June 2018 only. However, fee does not include air transport. Reaching the destination is up to participants themselves in the most convenient way possible.
Yes. Every participant will be greeted at the airport by one of our representatives to assist them with luggage and other formalities. Please note that this applies only for arrivals on 31st May 2018.
Yes, arrival and departure airport – hotel transfers are available on 31st May and 3rd June 2018 only. Our transportation services combine highest accessibility and utmost comfort. Within minutes from landing participants will be in a brand new, technically impeccable vehicle, fastening a seat belt and enjoying their ride.
The congress and lodging for all 600 participants is taking place in a fine 4 star hotel Crowne Plaza, located in the vibrant business and entertainment district of Belgrade, only a couple minutes’ drive away from the city’s main attractions. Both participants of the congress and their personal assistance entourage will be accommodated in the main 4 star congress venue, Crowne Plaza. The majority of the available accommodation units are twin rooms.
Yes, the Crown Plaza hotel has full access for disabled persons.
Yes, first aid kit is available on site. There is no doctor on call at the hotel.
The hotel restaurant and snack outlets during the congress will offer a range of vegetarian eating options. If you have any other special dietary requirements, make sure you let us know well in advance via email firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, please note that the congress is a nonalcoholic event.
English, German and Serbian are the official languages of the congress. In case of miscommunication participants are kindly asked to help each other, as already shown useful at previous congresses.
